Family Economic Success

Improve your family's economic status. Center staff can help you increase your income through family finance training, savings programs, income tax help and adult education.

Plaza Comuntaria

A joint partnership between Calistoga Family Center and the Mexican Consulate, Plaza Comunitaria assists adult learners in completing their elementary, secondary, and high school certification. Classes are a self-paced learning experience in Spanish, English as a second language, math, science, social studies, and general education. The program incorporates print, multi media and computer based curriculum.

Income Tax Help

Provided by: Calistoga Family Center

Community residents can receive basic tax preparation assistance through the Center's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. From February through April, individuals who are not eligible for Social Security Numbers can receive assistance applying for their own Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.

Family Finance Training

Provided by: Calistoga Family Center

Money concerns is one of the leading causes of stress in the home. Money Smart provides basic money handling training for families, and helps them to maximize the funds available.

English Language Classes

Provided by: Napa Valley College

Communicate with your children's teachers, interact with other members of the community and improve your career choices by learning to speak English. Classes meet twice a week, and are led by instructors from Napa Valley College.

Small Business Development for Women

Provided by: Calistoga Family Center

Earn money at home as you care for your children and other children, too. Become a fully-licensed childcare provider, and help increase your family's prosperity.

Asset Building

Provided by: Cope Family Center

Families save money for a college education, to purchase a home or to start a new business. For every $1 the family saves, $2 additional are contributed into their account. Matching funds are provided by Earned Assets Resource Network.

Women’s Initiative for Self Employment

Provided by: Women’s Initiative’s ALAS

Women who are serious about their businesses and their futures can participate in Women’s Initiative’s ALAS training, a comprehensive business training for women. Participants will gain essential management skills, strengthen their confidence, and develop a strategic plan for their companies. Contact the Family Center to learn about upcoming trainings.
